Stefan Asenkerschbaumer was born in Burghausen, Germany, in 1956. He studied at the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg, Germany, where he obtained degrees in business education in 1982 and in business administration in 1984 as well as his doctorate (Dr. rer. pol.) on the subject of operational innovation management in 1986. As of 2010 he was member of the board of management of Robert Bosch GmbH and from 2013 to 2021 he was deputy chairman of the board of management. Asenkerschbaumer has been managing partner of Robert Bosch Industrietreuhand KG (RBIK) and chairman of the supervisory board of Robert Bosch GmbH since January 2022. Both companies belong to the Bosch Group (group mandates) and are not publicly listed.

Sinischa Horvat was born in Pirmasens, Germany in 1976 and trained as a process control technician at BASF from 1993 to 1997. After his studies of business administration, he worked in the site information management at the Ludwigshafen site from 2002 to 2007. He joined the Works Council of BASF Aktiengesellschaft in 2002 and has been a full-time member of the Works Council at the Ludwigshafen site since 2007. Horvat joined the BASF Works Council Europe in 2013.

Thomas Carell was born in Herford, Germany in 1966 and studied chemistry at the University of Münster, Germany. He received his doctorate in organic chemistry from the University of Heidelberg, Germany in 1993. After postdoctoral studies at Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge he obtained his habilitation from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich, Switzerland in 1998. Carell has been a professor for organic chemistry at Ludwig Maximilian University in Munich, Germany since 2004.

Liming Chen was born in 1960 in Xinjiang/China. He graduated from Shihezi University in Xinjiang in 1982 with a Bachelor of Science. In 1989, he obtained his master’s degree in food science from Cornell University in Ithaca, New York. Between 1994 and 2008, Chen held various leadership roles at the chemical company Condea (since 2001: Sasol) in Singapore and China. From 2008 to 2015, he served as President of BP China and Chairman of BP (China) Holding Company. Chen was the Chairman of IBM Greater China Group between 2015 and 2022. He now serves as the World Economic Forum Greater China Chair since July 2022, based in Beijing.

Chen has been a member of the BASF Supervisory Board since October 8, 2020. He has been reelected by the Annual Shareholders’ Meeting 2024, and his mandate terminates upon conclusion of the Annual Shareholders’ Meeting 2028.

Alessandra Genco was born in Rome, Italy, in 1973. She obtained an MSc. in economics from LUISS Guido Carli University in Rome and an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business. Between 1996 and 1999 Genco was a risk manager at Banca di Roma and from 2001 to 2006, she was vice president in the Investment Banking division of Goldman Sachs in New York City. In 2006, Genco started her career at Leonardo SpA where she was head of Investments and Portfolio Evaluation until 2014, then vice president Group Finance until 2017. Genco has been Chief Financial Officer of Leonardo SpA since 2017.

Natalie Mühlenfeld was born in Essen, Germany, in 1980. She concluded her studies of law at the Ruhr University in Bochum, Germany, in 2009 with the Second State Examination in Law. She began her career at the IGBCE in 2010 as secretary for legal protection at the regional legal protection office in Bochum, Germany. Mühlenfeld was trade union secretary of the Leverkusen district from 2013 to 2020 before taking over the management of the Düsseldorf district in 2020.

Tamara Weinert was born in Mannheim in 1965. She is a banking specialist (Bankfachwirtin) and obtained an MBA in Finance from the Manchester Business School and a Master’s Degree in Protected Landscape Management from the University of Greenwich. Between 1984 and 2000 Weinert worked in the staff to a member of the Executive Board of Deutsche Bank as well as in various managing functions at Deutsche Bank in the field of Credit. Between 2001 and 2002, Weinert worked as manager Credit & Contracts at Mirant Corporation and between 2002 and 2009 in various functions in the fields of Credit Risk Management and Treasury at Nuon Energy in the Netherlands. From 2009 to 2012 she was Head of Corporate & Structured Finance at Vattenfall in Sweden. In 2012, Weinert started her career at Outokumpu Oyj (since April 4, 2024: Outokumpu Corporation) where she held various leadership roles in Germany and Finland in the fields Finance & Control, Sales and Investor Relations. She has been a member of the Leadership Team of Outokumpu Corporation since 2020 and President and Chief Executive Officer of the Business Area Americas since 2021.

Weinert has been a member of the BASF Supervisory Board since April 25, 2024, and her mandate terminates upon conclusion of the Annual Shareholders’ Meeting 2028.

Peter Zaman was born in Antwerp, Belgium, in 1968. He trained as an automotive mechanic and joined BASF Antwerpen N.V. in 1990 as a machine operator. After further internal training, he worked as a plant operator in the chlorine plant. Between 2000 and 2007, Zaman worked for Solvin N.V., a joint venture between BASF and Solvay.
