Strength across all core businesses drives BASF Group’s considerable growth in EBITDA before special items

BASF delivered another strong quarter. Sales increased by 14 percent compared with the prior-year quarter to reach €16.4 billion. The increase was mainly driven by considerably higher prices (plus 12%) and slightly higher volumes (plus 2%). At €1.6 billion, EBITDA before special items rose significantly by 15 percent compared with the third quarter of 2025. All core businesses contributed to this.

BASF, Chery Automobile Co., Ltd. (Chery) and Suzhou Orient Motion Intelligent Technology Co., Ltd. (Orient Motion) have introduced the world’s first mass-produced electromechanical brake (EMB) brake-by-wire system. Developed and industrialized in China, the system has been deployed in Chery’s premium EXEED EX7 model.

BASF’s engineering plastics plants in Shanghai and Zhanjiang certified ISCC PLUS

BASF’s engineering plastics plant in Minhang, Shanghai, and at the Zhanjiang Verbund site in Guangdong Province have been certified under ISCC PLUS (International Sustainability and Carbon Certification)^[1]. The certification covers renewable and recycled feedstocks and verifies their sustainable origin and allocation through a mass balance approach, offering independent traceability across the value chain.
