BASF to build additional production capacity for X3D® catalyst shaping technology in Ludwigshafen

BASF announced today that it will invest in additional production capacity for its X3D® technology, a new additive manufacturing technology for catalysts based on 3D printing. The plant will produce catalysts on an industrial scale and is expected to be operational in 2026.

BASF’s Monomers Division announced that its Polyamide 6 (PA6) plant in Shanghai has been awarded the ISCC PLUS certification. The PA6 plant is now ready to supply both biomass balanced and Ccycled® PA6 & PA6/6.6 copolymer.

BASF and AM Green B.V. have entered a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to jointly evaluate and develop business opportunities for low-carbon chemicals produced exclusively with renewable energy, and the corresponding value chains in India.

BASF and Fraunhofer IPMS celebrate ten years of R&D collaboration on innovative solutions in the field of semiconductor manufacturing

 

Ludwigshafen, Germany – October 22, 2024, BASF and Fraunhofer Institute for Photonic Microsystems IPMS are proud to look back on ten successful years of cooperation. Together, they have been working on innovative and customized solutions in the field of semiconductor production and chip integration as part of their “BASF Plating-Lab”. Within pilot tests at the Center Nanoelectronic Technologies (CNT) of Fraunhofer IPMS, strategies are developed and implemented to make materials and technologies in semiconductor integration more efficient and cost-effective.

ROUTING – the theme of BASF’s 2024-2025 Automotive Color Trends collection

Every year, designers from BASF’s Coatings division create a new collection of colors to inspire automotive designers around the globe. “ROUTING”, the title of the 2024-2025 Automotive Color Trends, refers to the concept of “routing” in communication technology which signifies how information is transmitted.
Semikron Danfoss now uses the BASF PPA Ultramid® Advanced N3U41 G6 as housing in its Semitrans 10 IGBT which is installed in inverters of photovoltaic and wind energy systems.

Save energy, increase power and efficiency: high-performance PPA by BASF for next-generation IGBT semi-conductors

For next-generation power electronics, BASF has developed a polyphthalamide (PPA) that is especially suited for manufacturing housings of IGBT (insulated-gate bipolar transistor) semi-conductors. Ultramid® Advanced N3U41 G6 addresses the growing demand for high-performance, reliable electronic components for e.g., electric vehicles, high-speed trains, smart manufacturing and the generation of renewable energy. Semikron Danfoss, a global technology leader in power electronics, now uses the BASF PPA as housing in its Semitrans 10 IGBT which can be installed in inverters of photovoltaic and wind energy systems. Due to its outstanding chemical resistance and dimensional stability, the Ultramid® Advanced N grade enhances the robustness, long-term performance and reliability of these IGBTs.
