A team from BASF and Imperial has won the Computers & Chemical Engineering (CACE) Best Paper Award 2023 for AI techniques that could boost chemical R&D.

The prestigious journal rated the paper as the best of over 280 published that year.

BASF is honoured to have been awarded the “Innovation Through Partnership” prize in conjunction with Pulpex and Scitech Adhesive Systems Ltd. Thanks to the RSC for recognising individuals, collaborations and teams for their exceptional achievements in advancing the chemical sciences.

Harriet Bean has been awarded the RSC Apprentice Prize that recognises 'major contributions towards the future sustainability of production plants through improvements to process safety, asset effectiveness, throughput, quality and raising apprenticeship awareness.'

Delivery of Neopor® BMB to energystore in Northampton, UK, will be realized by Italian logistics company FERCAM with trucks fueled by Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil (HVO).

Following regional awards success, BASF claimed the 2023 Manufacturer of the Year award as well as winner in the societal outreach category - Manufacturing Matters. BASF’s Harriet Bean was named runner up in the Engineering Apprentice Rising Star category.

On 28 February 2024 BASF along with its partners Schneider Electric, Bosch, Bilfinger, Henkel and Bouygues brought together over 170 inspiring women, business leaders and experts to share insights and knowledge, celebrate the contributions of women in industry and join discussions on creating an inclusive work environment with a particular focus on gender balance.

Customers invited to attend BASF event focussing on Scope 3 emissions and how the chemical industry can take steps to protect the climate. “Navigating Net Zero” attracted over 100 invited customers, BASF colleagues and experts to share their expertise, experience and insights into the topic, providing context on areas such as Scope 3 data collection, Carbon accounting, Product Carbon Footprints and reducing transport emissions.

A £1.8m consumables warehouse on the Isle of Lewis was officially opened on 26 September 2023. The new warehouse will provide much needed storage capacity to support growth development plans.

We are delighted to announce that a team from BASF in collaboration with Pulpex Ltd has picked up the first SCI® Award for Innovation Enabled by Partnership, with its lightweight fibre bottle that offers brand owners a sustainable, environmentally friendly alternative to plastic and glass bottles.

Industry giants in the UK embark on first ever cross sector collaboration to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. The ‘Flue2Chem’ project will work to convert industrial waste gases to create more sustainable chemicals for consumer products.
