Navigating Net Zero
Customers invited to attend BASF event focussing on Scope 3 emissions and how the chemical industry can take steps to protect the climate.

Earlier in 2023, BASF UK & Ireland held “Navigating Net Zero”, a customer event, which attracted around 40 guests who were keen to learn more as they started out on their own transformation to net zero emissions. Following on from that successful session, the team recently invited over 100 customers, BASF colleagues and experts to share their expertise, experience and insights into the topic of Scope 3 emissions, providing context on areas such as Scope 3 data collection, Carbon accounting, Product Carbon Footprints and reducing transport emissions. A lively panel discussion gave participants the chance to ask further questions and debate the challenging topic.
Tony Heslop, BASF’s Senior Sustainability Manager, UK and Ireland, hosted and presented at the event explained why Scope 3 emissions was in focus, “At BASF we want to play an active and responsible role in shaping the transformation toward a climate-neutral society. It is clear that the transformation of BASF towards climate neutrality is challenging but we are determined to take this path and become a pioneer in climate-neutral chemistry. We heard from our customers that as they navigate their way towards net zero, Scope 3 emissions is a subject where there is uncertainty. We felt it was important to bring expert voices into the room to encourage conversations and enable us to learn together.”
It is anticipated that the Navigating Net Zero events will continue, exploring other relevant sustainability topics that will support our customers on their net zero journeys.
