BASF donates $25,000 to Gleaners Food Bank to help meet demand during coronavirus pandemic
WYANDOTTE, MI, May 8, 2020 – BASF has donated $25,000 to Gleaners Southeastern Michigan Food Bank to help combat hunger in communities near their Wyandotte and Southfield, Michigan facilities.
Recognizing that food insecurity will likely increase due to impacts from the COVID-19 pandemic, BASF’s donation will support Gleaners’ mission to continue distributing food to community members in need.
“Continuing our commitment to the health and safety of our community, we have increased our financial support to meet the heightened need during these uncertain times,” said Greg Pflum, Vice President and General Manager of BASF’s Midwest Hub.
The contribution follows the company’s previous donations of HandClasp™ hand sanitizer to Henry Ford Health System and personal protective equipment to first responders in Livonia, Southfield and Wyandotte to battle the coronavirus.
