BASF launches Tinosorb S in the United States

Following FDA approval of Bemotrizinol, BASF is authorized to market and sell Tinosorb S in the U.S. under its license agreement with DSM Nutritional Products LLC. Tinosorb S is a globally recognized broad-spectrum UV filter known for its exceptional photostability and performance in advanced sunscreen formulations.

BASF’s TECH Academy supports Chattanooga students in exploring technical careers

Nineteen students from across the Chattanooga area have completed BASF’s TECH Academy. The week-long immersive program delivered in partnership with Chattanooga State Community College introduces students to technical and craft careers through real-world industry access, hands-on skills training and direct mentorship from working professionals.

BASF’s TECH Academy introduces Louisiana high school students to technical careers

Twenty-six area high school students recently completed BASF’s TECH Academy – a week-long educational and workforce development program hosted at River Parishes Community College (RPCC). TECH Academy encourages students to learn more about technical and craft careers through experiments, demonstrations, field trips and interactions with industry professionals. Since 2015, more than 200 students have completed TECH Academy in Louisiana.

Bemotrizinol, marketed by BASF as Tinosorb S, receives regulatory approval in the United States as the first new sunscreen active ingredient approved by the FDA since 1999

Bemotrizinol (BEMT), marketed by BASF as Tinosorb® S, has received approval from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) as a sunscreen active ingredient. Developed by Ciba Specialty Chemicals and later integrated into BASF through acquisition, BEMT is now available to the U.S. sunscreen market as one of the most effective UV filters. It is also the first new UV filter to be approved by the FDA in 27 years. This marks a significant advancement in sun protection for American consumers.
