Nealta® miticide receives registration in New York
BASF introduces new product that provides control of mites in apples, pears, grapes and strawberries
RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, NC, May 19, 2016 – BASF announced today that Nealta® miticide received registration in New York. The product is labeled for use on apple, pear, grape and strawberry crops, providing growers in New York with a new integrated pest management tool.
Nealta miticide delivers residual control of mites at all life stages through a unique site of action not found in any other miticide in the U.S. Cyflumetofen, the active ingredient in Nealta miticide, is highly effective against mites that have developed resistance to other acaricides.
“Its unique site of action makes Nealta miticide an excellent resistance management tool for apple, pear, grape and strawberry growers in New York,” said Steve Broscious, Ph.D., Technical Market Manager for BASF. “Because it can control mites at all life stages, it can be used as part of an effective integrated pest management program.”
Research indicates Nealta miticide is compatible with beneficials and non-target arthropods, including insidious flower bugs, seven-spotted lady beetles and western predatory mites. It also offers a short pre-harvest interval, application flexibility and tank-mix compatibility.
Nealta miticide is the latest product available from BASF for the specialty market, and can be used as part of a comprehensive management program along with proven innovations from BASF, including Pristine® fungicide, Merivon® fungicide and Prowl® herbicide.
