BASF launches new orange pigment for industrial coatings applications

New product broadens color space offering for coatings manufacturers

CHARLOTTE, NC, December 1, 2014 -- BASF announced the North American launch of Irgazin® Orange EH1287 for industrial applications which include agriculture, construction and earth moving equipment coatings.  Irgazin Orange EH1287 improves material flow allowing formulators to increase pigment loading for higher opacity and reduced production costs without negatively impacting coating gloss.  Under test conditions, the product has also shown to foam less when dispersed and is free of lead which is an important sustainability point for industrial coatings manufacturers.

BASF’s broad range of resins, dispersions, pigments and performance and formulation additives provides formulators a wide selection of materials to choose from.  Irgazin Orange EH1287 bolsters the current portfolio of orange pigments including Irgazin Orange L2990 and gives customers a choice of products based on their application in the orange color space.  BASF experts are available to help customers with starting point formulations using the new Irgazin Orange EH1287 for selective shades in both solvent based and water based coating systems.

Irgazin is a registered trademark of BASF Group.
