The birthplace of construction chemistry

Trostberg in Bavaria, Germany, is a BASF multi sector site today with Construction Chemicals, Dispersions & Pigments, Performance Chemicals, Advanced Materials and Systems Research, and Global Intellectual Property all based at the location.

BCSG manufactures more than 220 different products in Trostberg and in Stassfurt, Eastern Germany. These range from concrete admixtures, raw materials for concrete admixtures and additives for filling compounds through to plasters and mortars, and products used in oil and gas production. Also located at the Trostberg site and part of BASF’s Research Verbund (network) is the Construction Materials & Systems Global Research and Development Center, where BCSG experts not only conduct basic research but also develop products in the fields of construction chemicals, oilfield, water treatment and mining chemicals, and construction systems.

BCSG employees also perform other tasks within the Construction Chemicals Division's innovation chain; they manage its patent portfolio, or carry out leadership functions for BASF’s Construction Chemicals Europe Business Unit, which is managed from Mannheim.
