Supplier CO2 Management Program

Reducing Scope 3 emissions presents us with particular challenges, as these are only partially within our direct sphere of influence. To create transparency about these emissions, we launched the Supplier CO2 Management Program in 2021.

The aim is to obtain a more accurate database and to better manage and reduce emissions in the supply chain.

Since 2021, we have been requesting the product carbon footprints of our raw materials and supporting our suppliers in determining them. More than 1,900 suppliers were surveyed, covering around 80% of our raw material-related greenhouse gas emissions. We have over 1,700 validated product carbon footprints. Together with our suppliers, we are now working on solutions to reduce product-related emissions. Given our progress, we are confident that we can justify setting a credible Scope 3.1 emissions reduction target.
