Dahej, India – February 24, 2025 – BASF India Limited has broken ground on a new plant to increase the production capacity of its Cellasto^® microcellular polyurethane (MCU) in Dahej, India. Under BASF's new "Winning Ways" strategy, the plant will be constructed with state-of-the-art technologies and automation systems to ensure that BASF’s high standards of safety and quality are upheld. The plant, expected to be operational in the second half of 2026, features a new mold line in its first stage and empowers Cellasto^® to meet the high demands of the rapidly growing local market.

BASF will increase the price of Ultraform^® (Polyacetal) base resin grades by up to $350 USD per metric ton in the Asia Pacific region. The adjustment is necessary in consideration of continued increases in the cost for energy, essential raw materials, and freights in the market, as well as enhanced regulatory efforts. The increase will take effect on March 1, 2025.

Hong Kong SAR, China – January 23, 2025 – BASF’s Personal Care business is launching a new ingredient, VitaGuard^® A to capture the continuous market demand for retinol, while reinforcing its position as a Hero ingredient in cosmetics. This latest innovation is based on the encapsulation of free retinol. Retinol is a powerful anti-aging molecule widely used in cosmetic applications. However, it can also cause skin irritation and is prone to light and air degradation, making it difficult to be widely utilized by formulators. VitaGuard^® A was developed using patented solid lipid particles, protecting retinol from degradation, limiting skin irritation and allowing better skin bioavailability for improved cosmetic efficacy.

 

BASF’s Coatings division announces that BMW Group has selected the premium refinish brands Glasurit and R-M among their preferred paint brands for its aftersales network. This strategic partnership includes 50 markets where BMW Group is not present with its private label. The Glasurit 100 Line AraClass and R-M Agilis Pioneer Series product portfolio are set to reshape the future of body shops worldwide with its commitment to sustainability and high-performance solutions.

BASF’s newly developed flame retardant (FR) grade of Ultramid^® T6000 polyphthalamide (PPA) is now used in terminal block application. This upgraded solution replaces non-FR material, enhancing safety for the inverter and motor system in electric vehicles (EVs).
