BASF launches new Keropur® gasoline additive bottle in Taiwan

  • New formulation improves the engine cleaning effect
  • It helps clean the deposits in modern direct injection engines and conventional port fuel injection engines
  • A cleaner combustion process contributes to a more sustainable mobility system

Taipei – January 17, 2024 – BASF has launched the next generation of its Keropur® gasoline additive bottle into Taiwan’s automotive aftermarket. Designed to meet the technical requirements of modern direct injection spark ignition (DISI) combustion engines, while keeping superior effectiveness on conventional port fuel injection (PFI) engines, Keropur® comes with an advanced formulation that improves the engine cleaning effect significantly. With its technical performance, Keropur® helps reduce emissions and improve fuel economy.

“We are pleased to introduce the new generation of the Keropur® gasoline additive bottles in Taiwan with novel packaging and upgraded formula. It enhances engine power, acceleration, and driving performance. In addition, it contains an effective corrosion inhibitor to protect metallic parts from rust formation.” said Sand Dee Ng, Managing Director of BASF Taiwan.

Today's advanced combustion engine technologies present another challenge. Fuels complying with legislative standards may tend to form deposits inside the engine. Carbon build-up in the fuel system leads to poor fuel economy, rough engine idling, and increased emissions.

“This is exactly the problem that our high-performance Keropur® helps to solve. A cleaner engine and associated combustion not only prolong the lifespan of the engine but also provide benefits such as less fuel consumed, reduction in emissions, therefore, contribute to a more sustainable mobility system,” stated Matthias Lang, Vice President, Business Management Fuel and Lubricant Solutions Asia Pacific. “

The Keropur® gasoline additive bottle is suitable for all kinds of gasoline engines, that perform on 92, 95, and 98-octane unleaded gasoline. Adding a bottle of Keropur® to a tank of gasoline will provide superior engine protection.

Keropur® gasoline additives were introduced in the Taiwanese market in 2012. They offer better deposit control for a cleaner engine, higher gasoline efficiency, lower emissions, and optimal driving experience. In addition, these sustainable attributes of Keropur® are expected to contribute to the net-zero carbon emissions target that the Taiwanese government aims to achieve by 2050.
