New president appointed at BASF Japan
Tokyo, Japan – April 10, 2025 – BASF has appointed Rachib de Matos Zeidam as the new Representative Director and President of BASF Japan, effective July 1, 2025.
Zeidam succeeds Hiroki Ishida, the current Representative Director and President of BASF Japan, who will step down end of June 2025.
Zeidam joined BASF Japan in 2001 as an engineer in the Polymers division. Over the years, he has held various managerial positions in the Performance Materials division, including Senior Regional Manager for Consumer Technology in Singapore and Senior Manager for Non-automotive Sales in Japan. Since 2021, he has been serving as the Director of the Performance Materials division at BASF Japan.
Rachib de Matos Zeidam was born in Teresina, Brazil, in 1975. He studied Material Engineering (Polymers) at the Toyohashi University of Technology, Japan, where he obtained his Master of Engineering in 2001.
