BASF and NGK release advanced type of sodium-sulfur batteries (NAS Battery) NAS MODEL L24
Ludwigshafen, Germany, and Nagoya, Japan, June 10th, 2024 – BASF Stationary Energy Storage GmbH, a wholly owned subsidiary of BASF, and NGK INSULATORS, LTD. (NGK), a Japanese ceramics manufacturer, have released an advanced container-type NAS battery (sodium-sulfur battery).

NGK INSULATORS, LTD. announces that NAS battery system has started its operation in Kostinbrod, Bulgaria, at the production site of Rollplast, a leader in production and sales of high-tech windows, doors and blinds in Balkan region and Europe. The NAS battery system was ordered through BASF Stationary Energy Storage GmbH, a subsidiary of German chemical manufacturer BASF SE and headquartered in Ludwigshafen, Germany.
Battery energy storage system supports BASF in Schwarzheide of using green power
A stationary energy storage system was erected on the site of BASF Schwarzheide GmbH. Schwarzheide is the first BASF production site worldwide to test a green power supply for individual production parts through the combination of the site’s own solar park and a stationary energy storage system.
