Value-adding growth can be implemented in the long-term when economic success matches environmental and social responsibility. We therefore rely on efficient, environmentally friendly processes to use fewer resources and lower emissions and waste. In order to achieve the BASF’s global objectives, we have established monitoring instruments.
We have already achieved a lot: Since 1990 we have managed to nearly halve our greenhouse gas emissions and at the same time double our production volume. By 2020 we want to reduce our greenhouse gas emissions by 40% per ton of product sold compared with 2002 - and we are confident that we will achieve this objective.
