As an insurance specialist, you are responsible for ensuring that we are well prepared to react to insurance claims and take care of these if something does happen.

Our Corporate Insurance business unit manages Group issues and is the main contact for the entire BASF Group. It is based in Ludwigshafen. This small yet efficient team secures high-quality and cost-efficient insurance options for the BASF Group and optimizes the risk capital employed by the Group in terms of our global insurance strategy. As a business partner, we manage the insurance demands of BASF worldwide and thanks to our first-class expertise and our extensive range of services, we add extra value to the entire company.

In our Corporate Insurance unit, you can not only expect responsible and challenging tasks but also the chance to develop yourself in the long-term as part of an international network of experts.

A majority of our job opportunities requires several years of professional experience in the insurance sector.

We do however also offer a handful of positions for

university graduates from the insurance sector or a comparable graduate course.

We occasionally offer internships during university degree courses.

Which responsibilities await you?

Insurance specialists identify and evaluate risks for the BASF Group and review the insurance options available to mitigate these risks. You develop insurance strategies based on total-cost-of risk analyses and secure optimum insurance conditions for the BASF Group.

This covers the following divisions:

Property insurance (insurance of BASF assets)
Liability insurance for product, environmental and general claims
Bad debts insurance
Transportation and storage risks

Your responsibilities also include the coordination of the global claim process for each division by processing all claims as well as possible recourse, and the support of all measures to prevent damage.
