We drive sustainability into our business.

As BASF sustainability means for us that we bring in balance economic growth, environmental protection and social responsibility. But visions, alone, do not drive action. The focus of our team is to integrate sustainability into BASF strategies and decision making.

We work on the integration of sustainability aspects into BASF strategies. This includes the positioning of businesses in the context of sustainability. We check that the strategies are in alignment with BASF´s sustainability targets and principles. As well we anchor sustainability aspects into investment decisions of BASF.

With our sustainability expertise we can support the business experts with processes, products and strategies.

What we expect:

You have successfully obtained a degree in economics. Besides a professional background based on project experience you are familiar with strategy development, sustainability, economic evaluations and processes. You possess excellent communication and presentation skills. Moreover you are able to apply your analytical thinking within a business environment and to convince others through suitable arguments and efficient teamwork.

Together with the BASF business units the team assess BASF's product portfolio (Portfolio Segmentation) and ensure measures are established to implement sustainability in their respective strategy. Additionally, they help the business units to get a deeper understanding for sustainability issues within their industries and to use our know how to improve customer relationships.

With a cross operating division approach (Opportunity Finding) they analyze the value chains, identify sustainable development hot spots and generate value by creating business models that solve the challenges with product, process, and/ or service solutions.

Which responsibilities can you expect?

You will identify, evaluate and consolidate ongoing strategy development activities for your own unit as well as on corporate level. Furthermore, you are responsible for the coordination of strategy development workstreams and for the development of calculation models with external partners. Preparing and supporting management presentations and managing different data will also become part of your job. Strategies have to be implemented, communicated and reviewed.
