Supporting COVID-19 vaccination programmes in Asia

Did you know that vaccines need to be preserved in super cold temperatures to maintain their potency, and therefore the reliability of cold storages is extra important?

United Panel-System, Malaysia’s leading insulated panel, commercial and industrial refrigeration systems producer, now manufactures COVID-19 vaccine logistics facilities made with BASF’s Elastopir® PH, a high-quality polyurethane rigid foam insulation solution.

Digital transformation of agriculture

How can AI, digital tools, satellite maps support farmers to make better informed field management decisions in rice and soybeans?

BASF and Zen-noh, a federation of agricultural cooperatives in Japan, collaborated to launch xarvio® FIELD MANAGER, an AI-based digital crop optimization platform.

The platform offers field- and field-zone-specific real-time information and recommendations, which will support farmers to make better-informed field management decisions.

Carbon Capture & Storage onboard maritime vessels

BASF and Samsung Heavy Industries Co., Ltd. will carry out a collaborative feasibility assessment of capturing CO2 onboard maritime vessels, using BASF’s OASE® blue technology.

The joint effort is in line with supporting International Maritime Organization’s target to reduce carbon intensity of international shipping by at least 40% by 2030.

First ISCC+ certification in Asia Pacific

Two BASF Monomers manufacturing sites Monomers manufacturing sites in Onsan and Yeosu, South Korea have been ISCC+ certified in 2023. This certificate demonstrates the ability of the sites to offer bio-mass balance (BMB) and ChemCycling® products with identical product performance and lower CO2 emission to the product grades now supplied from South Korea.

BASF's bio-mass balance approach reduces the product carbon footprint by at least 70% in the production process.
