Information for Visitors

With an area the equivalent of nearly 60 soccer fields (approx. 427,000 square meters) and some 2,450 employees, Münster is the world's largest integrated paint manufacturing site and simultaneously the headquarters of the Coatings division with global operations. The site is not only a center for the production of automotive OEM coatings and automotive refinish products; it is also where the Coatings division's strengths in the areas of research, development, sales and marketing are centered.

Glasuritstraße 1

48165 Münster-Hiltrup

Exit autobahn A1 at the Münster-Hiltrup/Amelsbüren/Senden exit (79a) and turn onto Kappenberger Damm (L884) toward Hiltrup. Continue on Kappenberger Damm until you reach the intersection of Kappenberger Damm and Wiedaustraße and then turn right onto Wiedaustraße. Continue straight ahead on Wiedaustraße until you reach Amelsbürener Straße (L885) and stay on Amelsbürener Straße until you reach the traffic circle. Turn right onto Hansestraße (K11). Continue on Hansestraße until you reach Glasuritstraße. The site is located at Glasuritstraße 1, where you can park in our visitor's parking lot.

How to find Us - by Public Transport

By bus from Münster main train station (Hauptbahnhof Münster (Westf)):

From bus platform D2, take line 1 in the direction of "Amelsbüren Bahnhof" and get off at the "Glasuritstraße" stop.
From bus platform D2, take line 5 in the direction of "Hiltrup Bahnhof" and get off at the "Max-Winkelmann-Straße" stop.
From bus platform D2, take line 9 in the direction of "Franz-Marc-Weg" and get off at the "Glasuritstraße" stop.

By train from Münster main train station (Hauptbahnhof Münster (Westf)):

Get off at "Münster-Hiltrup"

Take the regional train RE7 in the direction of "Krefeld Haupthahnhof".
Take the regional train RB69 in the direction of "Bielefeld Haupthahnhof".
Take the regional train RB89 in the direction of "Warburg (Westf.)".

For trains from other directions, get off at "Münster-Hiltrup".

Gate 1 (Tor 1) at Glasuritstraße is only a short walk from the bus stops and from the "Münster-Hiltrup" train station.

Access to the Site

Visitors should sign in at our reception desk at gate 1. Access via other gates is not possible. Our free visitor's parking lot is located across from gate 1.

Guided Site Tours

You can get an impression of BASF’s paint production at the Münster site during one of our free guided site tours for the public. In addition to a presentation about the Coatings division and the Münster site, the around three-hour program includes a tour of a production site and a bus tour of the site premises.

Due to the Corona crisis, there will be no guided site tours this year.

Please note that for safety reasons, pregnant women and children under the age of 14 are not permitted to take part in a guided site tour.
