Welcome to BASF in Tarrytown New York
The Tarrytown facility is one of seven BASF Research & Development hubs in North America.
A state-of-the-art research center provides R&D, new product development, and technical service support for BASF’s research operations. Current R&D activities include:
- Plastic Additives (Antioxidants; Light Stabilizers; Performance Enhancers)
- Pharma Ingredients (Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients; Excipients)
- Personal Care Ingredients (Skin Care, Hair Care, Oral Care and Personal Care Actives)
- Fuel and Lubricant Solutions (Additives for Fuels and Lubricants, Automotive Driveline Fluids, Brake Fluids and Coolants)
- Formulation Research
- High Performance Computing
Community Relations
BASF Tarrytown provides community outreach and support via back to school, food drives, and clothing drives. Being a Research and Technical Center, BASF Tarrytown is committed to science education and STEAM programs. They support high school students through the Westchester Science and Engineering Fair and lab tours. 2024 marks our second year supporting the Scarsdale High School Senior Options Program via interships.
In addition, our Site Sustainability Team volunteers through the Tarrytown Environmental Advisory Council for various community initiatives such as Vine Squad to control invasive species, town cleanup, and ECO Fair.
