Karen Killeen

Karen Killeen is Senior Vice President, BASF Corporation as well as General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer of BASF North America, a role she assumed on June 1, 2022.

In this position, Karen has overall responsibility for BASF’s legal and governmental affairs in the region. Additionally, as BASF Corporation’s Chief Compliance Officer she chairs the company’s Compliance Oversight Committee.

Karen joined BASF in 1992 and most recently served as Vice President and Divisional General Counsel for BASF’s global Catalyst Division. Prior to that, she was Vice President and Deputy General Counsel, North America Commercial Services.

Before BASF, Karen was an associate at Lowenstein Sandler in New Jersey where she specialized in environmental and safety litigation and regulatory law. She earned her Juris Doctorate degree from Seton Hall Law School, Summa Cum Laude and her BA degree in Political Science from St. Peter’s College, Summa Cum Laude.
