BASF acquires Engelhard Corporation, the leading supplier of materials for catalysis and surface finishing. This is
the largest acquisition in BASF’s corporate history. Headquartered in Iselin, New Jersey, Engelhard was renowned for its development of catalytic converters. With the acquisition, BASF became one of the world’s leading suppliers of catalysts.
