Der BASF-Supercomputer, QURIOSITY, ist im Betrieb. Mit einer Rechenleistung von 1,75 Petaflops (1 Petaflop entspricht einer Billiarde Rechenoperationen pro Sekunde) bietet QURIOSITY eine etwa zehnmal höhere Rechenleistung als bisher für wissenschaftliches Rechnen zur Verfügung stand. Dies ermöglicht der chemisch-industriellen Forschung, in kürzester Zeit, Antworten auf komplexe Fragen zu finden und bisher unbekannte Beziehungen zwischen Forschungsgegenständen herzustellen.
