Pandemic Protocol for Employees
Based upon current guidelines from CDC on evaluation of workers at BASF post potential COVID 19 exposure, we have created the following adaptation for our employees, and contractors.
1. Return the completed Temperature Symptom Log with the 14-day of entries as per your local site’s instructions. Please notify the appropriate person at your work site by phone, PRIOR to returning to work, that they are self- monitoring for 14 days for fever and cough in accordance with CDC guidelines. During this 14-day monitoring period, quarantine from the site is required for 10 days. At the conclusion of the 10-day period, they must notify their Site Medical Contact and provide them with a copy of their self-monitoring record, to be forwarded to BASF Corporate Medical.
The individual must keep a written, precise day to day record, with day 0 being the day of potential exposure and continuing up to and including the 10 days since the individual was exposed. If close contact with the case continues for duration of illness (e.g., living in the same household and unable to isolate) Must be quarantined for 10 days from the date that the case is released from isolation.
- Twice daily take and record his/her temperature with a reliable thermometer. It should be taken every AM and PM.
- Twice daily documentation of the presence or absence of FEVER (temperature 100F or higher), COUGH, SHORTNESS OF BREATH. ALL should be recorded on the Temperature and Symptom Log (see attached page).
2. If symptoms or fever > 100 F develop, individuals should not report to work, or if working, leave work and immediately contact the designated person as per your local site’s instructions.
3. If symptoms develop, follow up with your medical provider.
If a clinician or the local state DOH in consultation decides you are a person under investigation for COVID 19, then you will remain in airborne isolation and contact isolation while coronavirus test results are awaited.
Clearance to return to work if diagnosed with COVID 19 will be done after CDC criteria are met.
IF NO FEVER OR SYMPTOMS OF COVID 19, YOUR LOG CAN BE SUBMITTED TO THE DESIGNATED PERSON AS PER YOUR LOCAL SITE’S INSTRUCITONS FOR REVIEW AND APPROVAL TO RETURN TO WORK.
