E-I Craft Badge Requirements

Availability: Craft badges will be available at ISTC training centers only. (Baytown and Beaumont, TX)
Craft Codes: ISTC will screen three (3) craft codes if an individual’s company schedules the 09BASFCB. If credit is verified via verification methods (described in verification section below), ISTC will place the appropriate course code(s) on the craft gadge. Craft badge codes will be issued as directed as follows:
Verification: ISTC personnel will verify crafts and certifications through the following channels:
 

1.  National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER)

  • Individuals with a gold card certification will receive a "certified plus" code for their craft.
  • All other individuals will receive a "certified plus" code if it is recorded as such in the NCCER database.
 

2.  Department of Labor (DoL)-Approved Union Programs (DoL union card)

  • "Certified plus" code will be assigned for all union cards for Journeymen and above.
  • Union apprentices will NOT be assigned a craft card.
 

3.  Texas Department of Licensing  and Regulation (TDLR)

  • "Certified plus" code will be assigned to those who hold a TDLR Journeyman Electrician License.
  • TDLR apprentices will not be assigned a craft card.
