Coronavirus measures at BASF in North America
The coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic is posing major challenges to people, companies and countries worldwide. The past year has demonstrated: only together can we succeed in overcoming this crisis. At BASF, we value the health and safety of our people, customers and the communities where we operate.
To fight against the spread of the COVID-19, we have established regional and local crisis teams throughout North America. All BASF locations are operating in accordance with site-specific pandemic preparedness plans. Additionally, we are coordinating closely with federal, state and local authorities and other stakeholders to ensure the safety of our employees, contractors and nearby communities. We are continuously evaluating the likely consequences for our business depending on the spread and duration of the outbreak.
Operating critical infrastructure is imperative during the response to the COVID-19 emergency for both public health and safety as well as community well-being. Because the chemical industry supplies goods that are essential to supporting the needs of the public, we are obliged to continue production operations. BASF provides products that go into cleaning and disinfection products, food, medicine, transportation, construction and infrastructure, energy and more.
