Fastenkur fürs Auto: Metallschäume der BASF sind zwar so stabil wie massives Metall, wiegen aber deutlich weniger. In einem Auto oder Flugzeug eingesetzt, senken sie den Spritverbrauch und damit auch den Ausstoß von klima-schädlichem Kohlendioxid. Hergestellt werden die Metallschäume mit Hilfe eines Tricks: Drei bis fünf Millimeter große Styroporkugeln werden in einem sogenannten Sprühwirbelbett mit Carbonyl-Eisenpulver beschichtet.

A drastic diet for cars: although BASF’s metal foams are as stable as massive metal, they weigh considerably less. When used in cars or planes, they lower fuel consumption and thus emissions of climate-damaging carbon dioxide. The metal foams are manufactured with the help of a trick: three to five millimeter sized styrofoam spheres are coated with carbonyl iron powder in a fluidized bed.

It will enable them test the physical, chemical and biological parameters of the water sample, using the water testing toolkit.

Im Rahmen des „Wasser-Erziehungs-Projekts“ der BASF ziehen Schüler der Shri Venkataramana Higher Primary School in Kulai (Mangalore) zusammen mit dem Naturkundelehrer Gopala V Proben aus dem Grundwasserreservoir, das in der Nähe der BASF-Produktionsstätte liegt. Mithilfe des Wasser Testing Toolkits können sie die physische, chemische und biologische Parameter der Wasserprobe testen.
