TripleS is BASF’s strategic tool for steering its product portfolio towards a more sustainable future. It enables transparent and consistent evaluation across a wide range of sustainability criteria - including transformation areas like Climate Change & Energy, Resource Efficiency, and Circularity.
Corporate carbon footprint
BASF has published a comprehensive corporate carbon footprint since 2008, the only industrial enterprise worldwide to do so.
Product Carbon Footprint
BASF already offers thousands of products with reduced or even zero carbon footprint (PCF) in its broad portfolio.
Supplier CO2 Management Program
In our Supplier CO2 Management Program we work together with our suppliers to create transparency on the Product Carbon Footprint of our purchased raw materials and jointly define and implement concrete reduction measures.

Circular Economy
Another key contribution in our development, innovation and production work is thinking in terms of the circular economy: reuse, recycling, etc.
Climate Protection
As an energy-intensive company, we are committed to the efficient use of energy and global climate protection and support the Paris Climate Agreement. We pursue the goal of climate neutrality and promote low-emission chemistry to enable the green transformation of our customers.

Eco-Efficiency Analysis
The purpose of Eco-Efficiency Analysis is to harmonize economy and ecology. This involves carrying out an overall study of alternative solutions to include a total cost determination and the calculation of ecological impact over the entire life cycle.
