NORBIN® launches Refinish Hub, BASF's crowdsourcing digital tool, to its offering to customers in India

  • Easy-to-navigate system allows for quick search and uploading of color formulas, all from a mobile device
  • Users can rate and share formulas and benefit from the color database
  • Painters save time, effort and reduces waste, unnecessary mixing

BASF's Coatings division has now extended its popular digital crowdsourcing color formula search system to NORBIN customers in India. The BASF Refinish Hub mobile web application allows NORBIN users across the Indian subcontinent to easily search, save and upload color formulas, and share them with other users in the region. Its handy platform identifies the best formulas and creates a powerful community of color experts. This shared knowledge helps users save time when looking for formulas, reducing wastage and improving their efficiency.

"We are excited about bringing our successful BASF Refinish Hub to the Indian market," said Susann Kluge, Vice President Sales Management, Automotive Refinish Coatings Solutions Asia Pacific, BASF. "We believe such digital solutions are an essential offering to value-conscious customers. At the same time, we also launched our NORBIN Instagram account (@norbin_apac) to help support our customers with the latest information about, and the passion behind, our brand."

The BASF Refinish Hub application is free to all NORBIN customers. Every formula's popularity and ratings are displayed and verified for its reliability by BASF.

Descriptions, such as usage by region and by age of vehicle, are available to support the painters' ability to predict how the color will look without having to do unnecessary mixing.

"The release of the BASF Refinish Hub in India is an exciting development because our NORBIN customers have been asking for good and fast color matching tool," said Vaibhav Ghag, Product & Commercial Manager (Paint Division), Wuerth India Pvt Ltd. "We see the application as a key part of NORBIN's portfolio of automotive refinishing products that help body shops and painters get the repair job done quickly and at the right price."

The NORBIN portfolio in India includes clearcoats, basecoats, primers and other auxiliaries formulated to deliver consistent quality and performance each and every time. Developed in stringent adherence to the production protocols, standards and quality controls of BASF, NORBIN products are reliable and uncomplicated, and are a competitively-priced alternative for automotive repair and refinishing professionals.
