BASF Coatings, a leading global supplier of innovative coatings solutions, and Li Auto Inc., a leader in China’s new energy vehicle market, have announced the signing of a Memorandum of Strategic Cooperation, with the primary goal of promoting and implementing painting innovations powered by sustainability and digital innovations.

– At CHINAPLAS 2025, BASF will showcase its leadership in polyurethanes (PU) through various innovations. The progress of its innovative PU recycling technology comes as a flagship solution at the event. With ‘Loop’, BASF introduces a range of PU solutions incorporating recycled content, market-ready and tailored for the footwear, automotive and synthetic leather industries.

At CHINAPLAS 2025, BASF will showcase a commercial vehicle air tank co-created with WAL Low Carbon Technology (Anhui) Co. Ltd (WAL) and made with BASF's high-performance material solution Ultramid^® polyamide. The innovative solution achieves a weight reduction of 10-20% compared to aluminum alternatives and over 50% compared to steel versions.
