Global Compact LEAD

BASF is recognized as Global Compact LEAD, demonstrating our ongoing commitment to the United Nations Global Compact and its Ten Principles for responsible business.

BASF has been a founding member of UN Global Compact LEAD since 2011 when a group of chief executives, including BASF’s former CEO Dr. Jürgen Hambrecht, joined UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon for the launch of this platform to take environmental, social and governance business performance to the next level.

LEAD companies represent the highest level of engagement with the UN Global Compact. As UN Global Compact’s CEO Lise Kingo highlights, “achieving the Sustainable Development Goals and creating the world we want will not happen without bold action from the responsible business community. We need companies like those recognized as LEAD to be an inspiration to other companies, large and small, across the world.”
