Donation Campaign #Earthquake2023 for people in Turkey & Syria: Thank you for the high willingness to help!

More than €844,000: This is how much BASF employees donated to BASF Stiftung as part of the aid campaign #Erdbeben2023. BASF will double the amount to more than €1.6 million. Together with the emergency aid of €500,000, BASF and its team will provide more than €2.1 million to support the people in the earthquake region in Turkey and Syria.

The helpfulness of the BASF team is overwhelming! Donations have been received from all over the world. Many thanks to all colleagues who have shown their sympathy in this way and are helping as a community. We are proud that, with the help of our BASF team, we can make a contribution to the people affected

What happens with the donations?

While most organizations and donation campaigns focus on immidiate emergency aid, we want to focus on mid-termin support.

We will focus on disaster recovery activities after the first wave of help will slow down.

A donation committee comprising local and global BASF representatives as well as BASF Stiftung will decide on relevant and trusted organizations on the ground that address the biggest needs in the affected region most effectively. Examples could be providing temporary housing, reconstruction of educational and medical facilities or strengthening community, health and psychological support.

We will inform you about the use of the donations!

The consequences of the disaster are devastating and will be felt for a long time to come. It is good that BASF Stiftung will use the money to support the reconstruction when the first wave of emergency aid flattens out. Especially kindergartens and schools as well as medical facilities need support in the medium term in order to be able to establish normality for the people in the region.
