Anup Kothari
Member of the Board of Executive Directors of BASF SE
Anup Kothari is an Indian-American business executive born in 1968 in Kota, India. He earned a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee, India, and a master’s degree in chemical engineering from the University of Kentucky, USA. He also holds an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, USA.
Anup Kothari joined BASF in 1999 in North America. His journey in BASF took him to various international assignments in Germany and China. He had different business roles in Care Chemicals, Catalysts, and took over as President of the Performance Chemicals division in 2017. From 2021, he led the Nutrition & Health division. Anup Kothari was appointed to the Board of Executive Directors of BASF SE in 2024.
He is responsible for the divisions Catalysts; Coatings; Dispersions & Resins; Performance Chemicals.
