Treatment Correlation

The treatment correlation compares the metabolome profile of a test substance with the metabolome profiles of all other substances in the MetaMap® Tox database by using Pearson and Spearman correlation. This has the aim to identify substances that show a similarity to other substances regarding their metabolome profile.

After choosing the respective study and substance, the dose, sex and time point of blood taking, the calculation is conducted. As a result of the comparison, the treatment correlation gives the profile strength (which represents the rounded down average of absolute medians of t-values and includes the absolute number of changed metabolites but also the magnitude of the respective change), the Pearson and the Spearman correlation, the respective p values, as well as the corresponding rank. Also, the number of common metabolites between the test and target treatment is given. The Pearson and Spearman correlation give the connection between two variables.
