BASF Venture Capital GmbH

Groundwork BioAg

Groundwork BioAg, a global bioagriculture company, leverages the natural power of mycorrhizal fungi to improve the productivity, sustainability and profitability of mainstream agriculture. Based on naturally robust strains of mycorrhizal fungi that are symbiotic with 90% of plant species, Groundwork BioAg’s Mycorrhizal BioPlatform can easily integrate into local planting regimes and fertility programs to increase yield. The flagship product line, Rootella®, can be applied as seed treatment to improve nutrient uptake, in particular phosphorus, water utilization, and resilience to stresses, including drought. A key part to improving the overall sustainability of agriculture, these mycorrhizal inoculants will help unlock carbon credit markets for mainstream farmers by naturally facilitating carbon permanence in the soil.
