Christine Grosse Lembeck to lead BASF’s Battery Recycling business

Christine Grosse Lembeck has been appointed to lead BASF’s global Battery Recycling business. In her new role, she will be in charge to further grow BASF’s comprehensive solutions along the battery recycling value chain for battery producers, battery cell manufacturers and OEMs. The business is an integral part of BASF Battery Materials.

“Battery recycling is a key enabler for the ongoing transformation towards electromobility. It is essential to keep critical battery raw materials, like lithium, nickel or cobalt, in the regional battery value chain while significantly reducing the CO2 footprint of batteries,” said Christine Grosse Lembeck. “With our recycling solutions, ranging from individual recycling steps to closed-loop concepts, our team and network partners support our customers worldwide to set up their recycling value chains. Supported by digital end-to-end solutions, we enable our partners also to fulfill requirements of upcoming regulations, such as the EU Battery Regulation or the EU Critical Raw Material Act. The start-up of our battery recycling plant in Schwarzheide, Germany to produce black mass later this year is a great example that we are passionate to move forward, invest and grow our business in Europe. I am thrilled to lead a business that will be such an integral part of the major transformations in the automotive industry.”

Christine Grosse Lembeck holds a Diploma in Business Administration and joined BASF in 2012. Since then, she has held various positions in sales, controlling, strategy and marketing in different locations and BASF divisions.
