The world cannot be changed alone. For this reason, BASF is involved in various regional and international networks as well as (partner) organizations, initiatives, and associations.
As a founding member of the PrOUT@work foundation, we support the matters of the LGBTIQ* community. We are also one of the founding members of Charta der Vielfalt, where we support all dimensions of diversity in Germany.
BASF has been recognized as a Global Compact LEAD company for our commitment to the UN Global Compact (UNGC). By actively supporting the Women's Empowerment Principles (WEPs), we promote gender equality and the empowerment of women in the workplace, on the labor market and in society.
We also support the United Nations' global LGBTI (Lesbian, Gay, Bi, Trans and Intersex) Code of Conduct. BASF joined the Business Commission to Tackle Inequality (BCTI), initiative launched by the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD), promoting equity and inclusion for sustainable growth together with other organisations and key stakeholders.
In North America, BASF is involved in various partnerships and programs. For example, we offer a diversity program for suppliers. In Brazil, BASF works closely with various institutions to strengthen respect for human rights. In Australia, BASF actively participates in the Champions of Change Coalition to achieve gender equality and is also a member of the Diversity Council Australia, an independent, non-profit organization that promotes diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
