Future Health

The mission of BASF’s Future Health activities is to improve the quality of life for people around the globe through disease prevention. We accomplish this goal by working with the international community, including international health, government and humanitarian organizations. At BASF, we believe that science can be part of the solution to the increasingly complex challenges of feeding and protecting a growing population.

Our goal: A world free of malaria by 2040
On April 18, 2018, BASF, Bayer, Mitsui Chemical, Sumitomo Chemical and Syngenta announced their continued and strengthened commitment to research, develop and deliver innovative vector control tools to help end malaria for good by 2040.
Eliminating Guinea worm disease
BASF has supported former US president Jimmy Carter's efforts to eradicate the Guinea worm disease since 1988 by supplying Abate® larvicide at no cost.
Introducing the mobile testing device which had specifically been designed for its food fortification efforts.
Food Fortification
The Food Fortification Initiative is part of BASF and constitutes a flagship shared value initiative that addresses a humanitarian challenge in an economically sustainable manner in over 40 developing countries
