BASF recognized as one of Canada's Top Employers for Young People for the 3rd consecutive year
Mississauga, ON, January 24, 2025 – For the third consecutive year, Mediacorp, the country's largest periodical publisher, has recognized BASF as one of Canada's Top Employers for Young People. This award recognizes employers that offer young professionals the best workplaces and programs to launch or advance their careers and retain top talent.
As one of Canada's leaders in attracting and retaining younger employees, BASF has been cited by Mediacorp for its unwavering commitment to creating a supportive work environment for the next generation of professionals. This includes programs and initiatives such as paid internships, a comprehensive development program for graduates featuring rotational roles, in-house career planning services, training and skills development, and mentorship programs.
“At BASF, we empower young professionals by providing a nurturing environment designed to inspire and drive innovation,” said Peter Halder, Head of People at BASF Canada. “Our strong focus on professional growth, paired with our diverse presence across various industries, provides young talent with the opportunity to explore their passions, excel in their career and contribute to our winning culture.”
The editors of Canada's Top 100 Employers evaluate Canada's Top Employers for Young People in terms of the programs they offer to attract and retain younger workers. These include tuition assistance, co-op or work-study opportunities, mentorship and training initiatives, and career management resources that help younger workers advance more quickly within the organization. In selecting award recipients, the editors also consider the composition and profile of each employer’s workforce.
BASF Canada’s commitment to its employees has earned the company multiple other awards, including Canada’s Top 100 Employers (2025), Greater Toronto's Top Employers (2025), Best Diversity Employers (2024), and 5-Star Benefit Program Award (2024).
