BASF recognized as one of Canada's Best Diversity Employers for the third consecutive year

Mississauga, ON, February 25, 2025 – For the third consecutive year, Mediacorp, the country’s largest periodical publisher, has named BASF one of Canada’s Best Diversity Employers. This award recognizes employers with exceptional workplace diversity and inclusiveness programs that support underrepresented groups in the community and workplace.

As one of Canada’s leading diversity employers, BASF was cited by Mediacorp for its commitment to implementing policies, programs and practices that promote equity, eliminate bias, and create an inclusive environment where all employees feel they belong. This includes offering diversity, equity, and inclusion-focused training sessions for both leaders and employees, providing access to 13 employee resource groups for underrepresented communities and their allies, launching outreach programs and partnerships with diverse organizations and educational institutions, and establishing equitable hiring and inclusive onboarding practices.

BASF was also recognized for its comprehensive performance management initiatives, such as ongoing employee feedback questionnaires, that monitor organizational progress and ensure the organization's continued success.

“At BASF Canada, we believe diversity fuels progress and lays the foundation for a strong team – it’s what drives how we grow, innovate, and succeed together,” said Peter Halder, BASF Canada’s Head of People. “By celebrating our differences, and ensuring every voice is heard, we create a workplace where people and ideas thrive, driving meaningful impact for our business and communities.”

The editors of Canada’s Top 100 Employers evaluate Canada’s Best Diversity Employers in terms of the programs they offer to drive diversity and inclusiveness in the workplace. These include diversity initiatives for employees from five groups: (a) women; (b) members of visible minorities; (c) persons with disabilities; (d) Indigenous peoples; and (e) lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender/transsexual (LGBT) peoples.

BASF Canada’s commitment to its employees has earned the company multiple other awards, including Canada’s Top 100 Employers (2025), Canada’s Top Employer for Young People (2025), Greater Toronto’s Top Employers (2025), and 5-Star Benefit Program Award (2024).To learn more, please visit BASF Canada’s profile.
