BASF named one of Canada’s Best Diversity Employers for the 2nd consecutive year

Mississauga, ON, March 5, 2024 – BASF has been named one of Canada's Best Diversity Employers for the second consecutive year. This award recognizes BASF for its employee-centric programs and ongoing commitment to fostering a diverse, equitable and inclusive workplace.

Mediacorp, the nation's largest publisher of employment periodicals, cited BASF for its noteworthy diversity and inclusiveness programs, which create a sense of true belonging in the workplace and drive forward a culture where employees feel valued, respected, and supported. These include access to 13 employee resource and development groups and BASF’s mental health and wellness support programs.

BASF has a Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Council that serves as a critical strategic sounding board and champion for best practices in diversity, equity and inclusion while providing executive sponsorship and steering for its employee resource groups.

"At BASF, diversity isn't just a goal; it's our driving force for excellence and a catalyst for innovation, growth, and inclusivity," said Apala Mukherjee, President of BASF Canada. "This award is a testament to the collective efforts of our team, who bring their unique backgrounds and perspectives to BASF and continue to champion inclusivity as a part of our culture."

Employers are evaluated by the editors of Canada's Top 100 Employers in terms of the programs they offer to drive diversity and inclusiveness in the workplace. These include diversity initiatives for employees from five groups: (a) women; (b) members of visible minorities; (c) persons with disabilities; (d) Indigenous peoples; and (e) lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender/transsexual (LGBT) peoples.

BASF Canada's commitment to its employees has earned the company other Mediacorp awards. These include being named as one of Canada's Top Employers for 10 consecutive years, one of the Greater Toronto Area's Top Employers for 11 years in a row, and twice being named one of Canada's Top Employers for Young People.
