BASF recognized as one of Greater Toronto’s Top Employers for the 12th consecutive year

Mississauga, ON, December 3, 2024 - BASF has been recognized as one of Greater Toronto’s Top 100 Employers for the 12th consecutive year by Mediacorp. This award acknowledges employers with outstanding workplace practices, including innovative human resource programs and progressive policies.

Mediacorp, Canada’s largest publisher of employment periodicals, cited BASF for its ongoing commitment to employee development and support programs. These include leadership development programs, paid internships, and a tuition reimbursement program, as well as extensive family-friendly benefits and policies such as parental leave top-up pay, compassionate leaves, and academic scholarships for employees’ children.

“Our commitment to supporting and empowering our team remains at the heart of our success,” said Peter Halder, Head of People at BASF Canada. “We are proud to continue being recognized as a leading employer in the Greater Toronto Area, and we will continue to create a workplace that fosters growth, inclusion, and excellence for all our employees and their families.”

Mediacorp editors evaluate employers for Greater Toronto’s Top Employers and Canada’s Top 100 Employers using the same eight criteria: physical workplace, work atmosphere, social, health, financial, and family benefits, vacation and time off, employee communications, performance management, training and skills development, and community involvement. Employers are compared to other organizations in their field to determine which offers the most progressive and forward-thinking programs.

BASF Canada’s commitment to its employees has earned the company multiple other awards, including Canada’s Top 100 Employers (2025), Top Employers for Young People (2024), Best Diversity Employer (2024), and 5-Star Benefit Program Award (2024).
