BASF and Hagihara Industries collaborate to deliver highly durable artificial grass for sports fields

BASF, a global leader in chemical innovation, and Hagihara Industries, Inc., a leading synthetic fiber producer in Japan, have joined forces to develop highly durable polyolefin yarns for artificial turf used in sports arenas, including football stadiums, baseball fields, and tennis courts. After three years of collaborative research and development, the two companies have created an advanced formulation with a series of Tinuvin® grades that significantly enhances the durability of synthetic grass, making it less susceptible to damage from sun exposure and ensuring it retains its vibrant color.

Hyundai-Kia and BASF have once again co-created for its 3rd concept car - the Kia EV3 Study Car, an experimental model developed together with Hyundai-Kia’s Materials Research & Engineering Center of the Advanced Vehicle Platform division. Made with BASF’s innovative and sustainable performance materials, the Kia EV3 Study Car is designed to enhance both the vehicle’s performance, design, functionalities and environmental footprint by applying sustainable material solutions in, for example, plastics, textiles, tires, and steel.

CHINAPLAS 2025: BASF showcases medical tubes and conveyor belt made with Elastollan® GMP certified TPU

At CHINAPLAS 2025, BASF will showcase medical tubes, and a conveyor belt made with a food contact (FC) grade of its Elastollan® Thermoplastic Polyurethane (TPU) material innovation. BASF’s TPU plant in Shanghai is now certified to produce the Elastollan FC grade according to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). This brings the production of BASF’s Elastollan FC closer to customers in Asia Pacific.
At CHINAPLAS 2025, BASF will showcase the Pro-Flex® Terra foot prosthesis, developed with Össur, featuring Cellasto®’s advanced three-step foam design that offers progressive stiffness, high impact strength, and adaptability for various activities and environments.
