BASF opens expanded Victorian Automotive Refinish Technology Distribution Centre at new location
- New facility supports growth of body shops around Victoria
- Enhances access to BASF automotive refinish paints and dry goods
- New specially designed facilities include spray and tint rooms
Melbourne, Australia – November 16, 2017 – BASF has relocated its Victorian Automotive Refinish Technology Distribution Centre to a larger, specially designed facility in Dandenong South. Strategically located in Victoria’s first integrated eco-industrial business park, the site also offers excellent access to Melbourne’s major arterials for improved logistics.
“Relocating the distribution center to a bigger space enables us to further expand our distribution services, and provide the highest level of service to body shops in the region,” said Tony Wiggins, Head of Coatings BASF Australia and New Zealand. The new facility features a customized warehouse and tint room and spray room for color matching and testing, along with a two-story office.
Over the last seven years, BASF has doubled its automotive coatings customer base in Australia and experienced a significant growth in local sales. The new warehouse helps to cater for this growth and features almost double the racking space, to enable more stock to be held on hand.
The site will distribute brands including Glasurit®, NORBIN® and baslac® along with dry goods, to bodyshops around Victoria and the region. The new facility also features meeting and conference spaces to allow BASF to offer seminars, training, and updates on the latest technologies to Victorian body shops and spray paint specialists.
