Are you a foam product producer? Or a formulator of adhesives? We offer different options for users along the material chain. Click the option below to learn more!

As formulation know-how is one of the key competencies of a formulator, BASF offers different blending ratios of acrylic co-polymer or blending of acrylic co-polymer with polyurethane dispersion as the alternative to the polychloroprene adhesive technology which could help to eliminate or to minimize the yellowing and strong odor issues.

Blending acrylic co-polymer with emulsion polychloroprene could help to reduce the overall economy of the formulation besides the benefits of yellowing and strong odor issues. This blending would permit the overall formulation to stay as a one-component system that could use the existing spraying equipment to ensure the least changes to the operation.

Blending two different chemistries, acrylic co-polymer and polyurethane dispersion, provide good storage stability with longer product shelf-life than emulsion polychloroprene, not to mention the benefits of eliminating or minimizing the yellowing and strong odor issues. A special reagent is needed to make it a two-component sprayable system for the required technical performances.

If you do not want to worry about formulating your own adhesive, consider using our Acronal® 3657X. The dispersion is used together with a special reagent in a two-component spraying system. The spraying system consists of two separate containers to keep the base polymer and special reagent apart. Upon spraying, the two components would meet each other in front of the nozzle, creating a spider-web-like coating and laid on the foam surface. Our product is designed to match the performance of emulsion polychloroprene adhesive technology, but with less odor and non-yellowing properties.
