Markus Bold

Short bio

Markus received his PhD in organic chemistry with studies in Marburg and Edinburgh. He has been with BASF since 2001 and has gained experience in the fields of research, controlling, staff functions, corporate management, M&A and corporate strategy. Along the way, Markus has spent more than four years in the United States. Markus got to know the chemical industry in a broad way, especially in the areas of performance chemicals, electronic chemicals and the agricultural industry. He has never lost touch with innovation, whether developing new products in the lab, introducing new products to customers or appreciating the innovative power of others. Markus is the founder of Chemovator, the BASF Business Incubator. Markus has been Managing Director of BASF Venture Capital GmbH since November 2023.
