Fresh salmon packed with Styropor® Ccycled™: The world’s first EPS fish boxes based on chemically recycled plastics introduced in Norway

Fresh fish and ChemCycling™: How does this go together? In a joint project, three companies have demonstrated how it works: BASF as raw material supplier for EPS, VARTDAL PLAST, who converts the beads into filet fish boxes and Bremnes Seashore that uses the boxes for the transport of some of its high-quality salmon brand BÖMLO® as of Christmas 2021.

CDP rates BASF as a leader in protecting water, forests and climate

The non-profit organization CDP has again ranked BASF as one of the world's leading companies for its measures and transparent reporting on water and forest management as well as climate protection. BASF achieved an A- rating in all three categories, meeting more stringent requirements for climate leadership.

Growing crops, not emissions: How carbon farming could help tackle climate change

Farmers are doing the biggest job on earth to feed an ever-growing population while also having to balance the effects of climate change and the demands of a changing world. Carbon farming is seen as a solution to mitigate climate change by promoting practices that avoid releasing greenhouse gases into the atmosphere as well as those that sequester carbon. Kasey Bamberger, a farmer from Ohio (USA), explains her experiences with a few of these practices that promote soil health and keep carbon in the soil.

BASF is accelerating the implementation of its CO2 reduction targets

With a new project organization, BASF is bundling and accelerating its extensive cross-company activities to reduce its CO2 emissions by 25 percent by 2030 compared with 2018 and become climate neutral by 2050. The unit, called “Net Zero Accelerator”, focuses on implementing and accelerating projects relating to low-CO2 production technologies, circular economy and renewable energies.
