2015

BASF celebrates its 150th anniversary globally coinciding with its 60th anniversary in Egypt.

2014

New office opening in Cairo Festival city for BASF Ltd. All business units are represented in this office.

2010

Integration of Ciba Egypt (TAO) into BASF Limited.

2009

Integration of BASF Construction Chemicals into BASF Limited.

2006

As of 2006, BASF is active in Egypt as BASF Construction Chemicals Egypt (SAE) and BASF Trading Egypt (SAE).

2001

Integration of Cyanamid Egypt into BASF Limited.

2000

Establishment of BASF Limited, Egypt, which represents all BASF operating divisions.

1978

BASF AG Egypt branch is established on January 23, 1978. Operating out of Cairo, it represented all sectors of the AG and of its affiliates, and was responsible for operations in Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates and Egypt.

1967

A BASF agency agreement with Misr Impex is terminated as of December 31, 1967, to be replaced by a contract with General Company for Trading & Chemicals.

1962

The State-owned Misr Import & Export Co. looks after BASF interests as of January 01.

1961

BASF’s agency agreement with Dye-Chem-Plast Ltd. expires on December 31.

1955

Formation of BASF agency Dye-Chem-Plast in Cairo.

1952

“BASF Delegates” office is set up in Downtown Cairo.

1937

In 1937, the sales organization for nitrogen undergoes a re-establishment. The I.G. owns 51 percent of the share capital of the new Sabet & Co. Cairo-based organization.

1926

Société des Matières Colorantes Waibel & Co. (S.M.C.) is established on February 16 in Cairo. It is the only IG-owned sales organization for the sale of dyes in the Arabian division of the Ludwigshafen sales group.

1925

The six largest German chemical companies – including BASF – merge to form “Interessengemeinschaft Farbenindustrie Aktiengesellschaft“ (I.G. Farben).
