BASF at the Inaugural Kenya Food Processing and Nutrition Leadership Forum
Shollay Ramlaul, Country Cluster Head at BASF East Africa was part of a panel discussion during the inaugural Kenya Food Processing and Nutrition Leadership (CEO) Forum that was held in Nairobi. The Forum was a platform for key decision-makers in the food processing industry including government and industry, to discuss and develop actionable solutions towards addressing issues related to the provision of high-quality and nutritious foods, as well as enabling food fortification excellence in the country with processors of staple foods. The event was organized by the Cereal Millers Association and TechnoServe.
The theme for the panel discussion was ‘Rallying Industry Commitment to Health and Nutrition by Leveraging on Industry Opportunities’ where Shollay spoke about the value of multi-stakeholder collaboration and BASF support for food fortification initiatives in over 40 countries worldwide. BASF provides extensive technical assistance and expertise, quality assurance and quality control support, partnership building as well as quality product solutions. BASF is committed to engage in food fortification initiatives to help achieve the UN Sustainable Development Goal 2 “Zero Hunger and improved nutrition”. Other panelists included governments officials and additional Strategic Food Fortification Partners (SFPs)
