New, highly efficient termiticide from BASF sets new industry benchmark
- Termidor® HE is approved for use in Australia
- Application time is a third lower than industry standard
- New advanced polymer technology creates enhanced protection zone
- Wider drill hole spacing and reduced trench depths provide treatment flexibility, reduce impact on properties
Melbourne, Australia – August 8, 2017 – A new generation termiticide from BASF, Termidor® HE, will help pest control professionals increase productivity while providing enhanced coverage with lower impact to the properties where treatment is being applied. Termidor HE has received registration from the Australian Pesticides and Veterinary Medicines Authority and is approved for use throughout Australia.
Termidor HE expands upon the proven and reliable Termidor SC formulation with the addition of a BASF proprietary advanced polymer technology that temporarily boosts the transport of the active ingredient into the soil. Termidor is therefore dispersed more evenly through the soil, creating an enhanced protection zone whilst also allowing for reduced trench depths to be excavated and wider drill hole spacings when drilling through concrete.
“Termidor HE is truly an industry breakthrough that saves time and labour, yet still delivers the unmatched protection of Termidor,” said Dr. David Elmouttie Technical Specialist, BASF Professional and Specialty Solutions. “Compared to the current industry standard, a job using Termidor HE can be done in almost half the time1”.
The new technology requires, on average, 30 percent shallower trenches, and provides flexible drill hole spacings up to 450mm apart. These features make application easier, especially when the termiticide is being used around complex footing designs or when trying to avoid utilities and obstructions around structures. The flexible drill hole spacing can also help minimise damage to costly landscaping, paving and tiled areas.
“This new unique termiticide formulation provides professional pest controllers with a greater treatment flexibility, which results in higher productivity, improved customer satisfaction and opportunities to increase profits within their own operations,” continued Dr. Elmouttie. In addition, Termidor HE requires less physical exertion, and provides savings on long-term fixed costs of drill bits and rods.

Termidor® HE must be applied by a licensed pest control operator. Always read and follow label directions.
